Skiing and freeriding in Klostertal

Snow-covered slopes and cozy pistes

The Klostertal valley at the foot of the Arlberg has always been deeply rooted in skiing. At the foot of Austria's largest interconnected ski area, the Arlberg, the Klostertal offers an ideal starting point to the skiing paradise. But the valley itself also has a ski insider tip to offer: the Sonnenkopf ski area.

At Sonnenkopf, you will find something that you often look for in vain in ski resorts of this size these days: pure natural snow! There is no artificial snowmaking at all here. In addition to the 30 kilometers of pistes, freeride fans will also find designated corridors for descents through the finest powder snow - always taking into account the sensitive flora and fauna, as the Sonnenkopf is located on the edge of the Verwall European Nature Reserve. Designated routes and well-considered visitor guidance protect wild animals and preserve nature. Nature enjoyment and nature conservation in one.

There are two charming practice lifts for little ski fans - the Paludalift and the Fuchslochbühellift. Local children have learned to ski here and guests can also gain an insight into the valley's traditional skiing culture.

You can round off a successful day's skiing perfectly by stopping off at a cozy hut or an inviting mountain restaurant. On sunny days, the terraces invite you to linger, where you can toast the day's experiences with your friends. In cooler weather, the warm lounge offers a cosy retreat to watch the snow flurries while enjoying a hot chocolate together.

This is pure enjoyment and well-being at its best.
