Tour description
From Buchboden, the trail descends a few metres to the Lutzbach stream. From here, follow the hiking trail along the stream into the valley. Pass the first car park and continue along the Lutzbach to the second car park, where the Madonnabach flows into the Lutz. Turn right and follow the gently ascending trail to Bad Rothenbrunnen. The trail is also suitable for pushchairs. For the return journey, you can take the alternative route along the gravel road to the first car park and then follow the same path back to Buchboden.
You can also shorten the walk by starting directly from the second hiking car park, from where it is a leisurely 10-minute walk to the Alpengasthof Bad Rothenbrunnen.
The Alpengasthof Bad Rothenbrunnen is an ideal starting point for numerous walks, easy hikes and more challenging mountain tours. One particularly scenic option is the short hike up to the traditional Gadenalpe at an altitude of 1,317 metres, situated in an impressive mountain basin beneath the Gadner and Diesner Gschröf.
